The music/film Cassini by Tony Imperatrice and Claudio Laso will be presented with a live rendering of its epic music score. Tony Imperatrice will be joined by sopranos Anne Webster and Bernadette LaMontagne-Schenck in a special presentation at Harts Haven bookstore.
The making of Cassini was a 2 year journey starting with Tony Imperatrice’s idea to tell the NASA Mission to Saturn story with the Cassini spacecraft represented as a character within a wordless story. The music score ultimately consists of Tony’s signature augmented organ and piano, with choir and soprano soloist. The wordless singing, along with the rhythmic, ambient instrumental accompaniment, serve to tell the mission story with deeply emotional music and stunning images from the Cassini Mission to Saturn provided by NASA.
The performance space at Harts Haven is very small, so for this presentation Tony, Anne and Bernadette will present the organ and soprano solo parts live, the piano and choir will be represented by a backing track all synchronized to the film. This is very much like other popular presentations like Star Wars Live or Bugs Bunny on Broadway, where a live orchestra performs the famous music in sync with the film.
